Pro Tone Pedals Viking Boutique Distortion Pedal

The Viking Distortion bridges the gap so many of you asked us to bridge. We’ve had countless requests to make a truly boutique distortion pedal that fell between the Dead Horse Overdrive and the Body Rot II Distortion. A distortion pedal with more grit than the DH, but more classic amp-like organic distortion than the Body Rot 2.

As most of you know, we’ve spent countless hours researching classic British amp designs during the development of the Jason Becker Distortion. The Viking takes those lessons learned and offers up the best of classic crunch and modern grind.

At the end of the day, yes, it IS a Marshall-in-a-box pedal… but if you’re familiar with the amazing results we were able to achieve with the Becker Distortion, you know that the Viking will be in a class all by itself.

Pro Tone Pedals Buzzard boutique overdrive

Introducing the Buzzard Overdrive-
An impressively amp-like pedal, with unbelievable touch sensitivity. This pure analog pedal is a  low to medium gain overdrive and was designed with flexibility in mind.
In addition to being guitar and bass friendly, the Buzzard is happy playing hard rocking stoner metal sludge or classic rock (hence the name) standards.

Because we wanted to make a versatile pedal for both bass and guitar, we went with a Baxandall EQ. The bottom line… Baxandall EQs sound good, its just that simple.
Push the Treble and Bass controls and the mids will scoop allowing your bass guitar to fit into the mix of your band… Plus as you push the EQ harder, you’ll get more more grit.
Ease back on the EQ and you’re mids will re-appear… but without any nasty mid-range honk.

Enough jibber-jabber, lets let the Buzzard Overdrive speak for itself.

Pro Tone Pedals Auto Wah Pedal

The Flying Eye auto wah has been totally redesigned to be a true auto wah rather than an envelope filter. This redesign has made the Flying Eye one of the most flexible boutique auto wah pedals available today.

A few words on the new controls:

Input: Sets the filters input sensitivity level. This allows you to use a wide array of pickup configurations from low output vintage to high output active bass pickups.
Response (Relax in the photos shown, but changed during final production): Think of this as your foot rocking action on a traditional wah wah pedal. This can be set to a high speed in order to get a wah effect on each note, or to a slower speed to act more as a cocked-wah filter.
Freq: Adjusts the filter frequency.
Q: Controls the ‘quack’ or peak of the filter.

Pro Tone Pedals boutique guitar effects pedals

What makes Pro Tone Pedals so different from the other boutique pedal makers?

Everything we do is completely hand built, in house (small workshop in reality)- including the powder coating, circuit board population, and final pedal assembly & testing. We use high quality components with our EARS judging whats best- not brand name hype or marketing.  When you plug into a Pro Tone Pedal you’re adding something truly special to your signal chain.

Pro Tone Pedals has been building the worlds finest boutique guitar effects pedals since 2004 to provide hand built boutique quality guitar effects designed for the modern rock and metal guitarists. In the years following, the Dallas Texas based company has had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in modern rock music.

Pro Tone Pedals have been on tour with Alice In Chains, Ozzy, 30 Seconds To Mars, Deftones, Poison, Ministry, Prong, Peter Murphy, and Bleed The Sky.We’ve also been used  in the recording studio by Nevermore, Velvet Revolver, The Absence, Arkaea, Overkill, Mob Research, Circus Diablo, and Fear Factory.

Pro Tone Pedals Body Rot 2 Heavy Metal Distortion Pedal

If you’re tired of the metal distortion pedals mass produced in Asia, designed by guys in their late 50′s that have no idea how metal sounds TODAY, then you NEED to hear the Body Rot II. In case you hadn’t noticed, metal is what we do… its what we are.

We’re not going to give you all the silly catch phrases that the other pedal companies use to sound metal… we’re just going to give you some of the details, and let you hear it.

  • Gain, Treble, Mids, Bass, and Volume controls
  • Operates on a standard 9 volt battery or negative tip BOSS style adapter
  • True Hardwire Bypass for noise free operation
  • Stomp switch built to withstand years of hard stomping shows
  • Durable aluminum housing
  • Neutrik Jacks
  • Proudly built by hand in Crossroads, Texas

The back story:

The Body Rot II started off with the heart of the original Body Rot distortion pedal with some added tone shaping EQ… but we knew that wasn’t enough.

With so many boutique companies jumping on the ultra heavy distortion pedal band wagon Pro Tone had started with the Body Rot distortion, we knew we had to create something massive. We knew that the Body Rot II had to be something that would send a jolt to the competition and silence the naysayers. The Body Rot II Continues to do just that.

Pro Tone Pedals DBH Tremolo Pedal

Pro Tone Pedals and rockabilly guitarist Danny B. Harvey team up to develop the industries preeminent tremolo pedal.
This all analog pedal provides lush tones similar those found on vintage American made amplifiers of the 40’s & 50’s thanks to its Vactrol opto-isolator design.
Its dead-silent operation (no ticks here!), ease of use, and overall tonal flexibility make the DBH Tremolo the most compelling tremolo pedal available today.

• Speed: rate of the effect, from a slow swell, to a rapid stutter

• Depth: controls the amount of dip from an imperceptible dip in volume to a remove-the-air-from-the-room throb.

• Space: adjusts the space between volume swells

• Volume: overall boost or cut. Cut your volume for an ambient effect, or boost your volume to push your amp into overdriven Link Wray territory.

• LED indicator pulsates with tremolo speed for easy tempo setting

• Internal trim control to fine tune your speed settings

• Operates on a standard 9v battery or BOSS style adapter (negative tip)

• True Hardwire Bypass with grounded input for noise free operation

Atheist Heavy Metal Distortion Pedal

With the success of the limited edition Atheist, we wanted to make a full run of them. No longer a simple re-skin of the Body Rot II distortion. This baby is now a 6 knob metal spitting beast.  As with the Limited Edition, proceeds from the new Atheist will be going to Non-Believers Giving Aid.

Proceeds on all sales made in October will also go to breast cancer research.

Non-Believers Giving Aid is sponsored by Richard Dawkins and serves two distinct purposes:

To send 100% of donated funds directly to two non-religious charities giving aid in Haiti: Doctors without Borders and International Red Cross.
To provide an easy conduit for the non-religious to help those in desperate need, while simultaneously disproving that you need God to be good.

When donating via Non-Believers Giving Aid, you are helping to counter the scandalous myth that only the religious care about their fellow-humans.
